Compaxo Groep B.V. has reached an agreement with the shareholders of Gepo Vastgoed B.V. regarding the intended acquisition of Gepo Vleeswaren B.V. in Nieuw-Vennep and Kroon Vleeswarenfabriek Zwaagwesteinde B.V. in Zwaagwesteinde.
With this intended acquisition, we are strengthening our position within our core activities and taking the next step in the further development of Compaxo. In particular, we see opportunities for growth and development within processed meats, liver sausage products and other specialities.
Two family traditions with a shared passion
Gepo and Kroon each bring a long and rich history. Gepo originated in 1958 and grew from a traditional sausage-making business in Hoofddorp into a specialised processed meat producer. Kroon’s history dates back to 1870. From a butcher’s shop in Groningen, Kroon grew into a nationally recognised processed meat brand. Since 2006, Kroon has been part of Gepo. In 2021, Kroon was recognised as a Royal Warrant Holder, in recognition of many years of quality and craftsmanship.
It is precisely this combination of family tradition, entrepreneurship and craftsmanship that fits with Compaxo. As a Family Food Company, we believe in the power of tradition and in the need to continue looking ahead.

With the intended merger, we turn our sights towards the future, with respect for the past. Generations of craftsmanship will thereby continue in a modern form.
We see opportunities to share knowledge and expertise and to strengthen each other in the areas of logistics, product development, product portfolio and packaging. By making Gepo Kroon part of Compaxo, we can make use of shared scale, knowledge and infrastructure, enabling us to meet the increasing demands from society and legislation and regulations. At the same time, the individual history, knowledge and identity of Gepo and Kroon will remain valuable parts of the whole.
Over the coming period, the transaction will be further formalised, including the necessary consultation and approval processes and the remaining agreements.
